SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Concrete Services Project Manager has the unique opportunity to grow his/her career through exposure to all aspects of project delivery including business development, estimating and project management.  Must demonstrate strong understanding of commercial concrete construction industry practices and standards while effectively managing preconstruction and project management responsibilities.  Must be familiar with construction costs, project budgeting, vendor selection, preconstruction client services, client proposals and owner/architect/general contractor industry expertise. 



  • Professionally represent GH Phipps and support Company strategic initiatives
  • Establish and foster positive long-term relationships with business partners 
  • Effectively lead project management activities from conception to completion
  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills, delivering on key projects and commitments via personal knowledge and leadership savvy
  • Proactively develop business and leads for concrete projects
  • Lead and/or provide support for estimates at all stages/levels through buyout
  • Lead hard bid efforts related to procurement of concrete projects
  • Prepare start-up documentation and implement owner contracts
  • Supervise set-up logs, bonds and project lists
  • Establish and maintain updated records for project accounting, billings and receivables
  • Complete and/or supervise preparation, billing and completion of change orders
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Unless otherwise noted):

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field/experience
  • Five (5) years project management/estimating experience
  • Strong background in turnkey concrete estimating and management of construction projects up to $5M
  • Solid computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Proficient in use of estimating software; Able to read drawings and specifications
  • Verifiable work references demonstrating exceptional skills and achievements including:
    • High level of professionalism; Dependable, results-focused and ethical
    • History of delivering on key projects and commitments
    • History of strong communication with internal stakeholders (e.g. Superintendents) and externally with Owner, Architect/Engineer, and subcontractors and suppliers
  • Key competencies: Strong organizational, multi-tasking and planning skills; Strong customer service orientation; Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens
